Hadith 13872

(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ . وَحَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ : " إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ الْعَبْدُ مِنِّي شِبْرًا ، تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا ، وَإِذَا تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا ، تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا ، وَإِذَا أَتَانِي يَمْشِي ، أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "If My servant comes near to Me by a span, I come near to him by a cubit; and if he comes near to Me by a cubit, I come near to him by a fathom; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running."
