Hadith 13859

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَمْ يَجْتَمِعْ لَهُ غَدَاءٌ وَلَا عَشَاءٌ مِنْ خُبْزٍ وَلَحْمٍ إِلَّا عَلَى ضَفَفٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that bread and meat were never combined for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for lunch and dinner on any day, except when a guest happened to arrive.
