Hadith 1379

Kulaib says that once I was sitting with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), when a man came to him who was wearing travel clothes. He sought permission from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)—who was conversing with people—to come inside. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), after turning his face away from him, began to say that once I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time, besides Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her), there was no one else with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), seeing me, said: "O son of Abu Talib! What will be your condition when you encounter such and such a people?" I replied that Allah and His Messenger know best. This happened twice, then he said: "There will be a people who will emerge from the east. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will exit the religion just as an arrow passes through its prey. Among them will be a man whose hand will be defective, and his hand will feel like the breast of an Abyssinian woman." . . . . . After this, he mentioned the complete hadith.
