(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَإِنِّي لَأَرْبُطُ الْحَجَرَ عَلَى بَطْنِي مِنَ الْجُوعِ ، وَإِنَّ صَدَقَتِي الْيَوْمَ لَأَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفًا " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There was a time with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when, due to the severity of hunger, I would tie stones to my stomach, and today the zakat on my wealth amounts to forty thousand dinars.
