It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once on a Friday, a man requested the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Pray for rain." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for rain. At the time when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed hands, we could not see any clouds in the sky, but when the rain started, it did not seem to stop. When the next Friday came, the same man requested, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Pray for the rain to stop." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed to Allah, and I saw that the clouds dispersed to the right and left, and not a single drop was falling inside Madinah.
