Thabit Banani, may Allah have mercy on him, says that it has reached us that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), during his final illness, wrapped a cloth around his blessed body and sat and performed prayer behind Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) as the imam. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called Usama (may Allah be pleased with him), leaned his back against Usama’s chest, and said, "Usama! Lift me up." The narrator Yazid says that in my book, the name of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was also mentioned (that this narration is reported from Anas, may Allah be pleased with him), but my teacher declared it to be munkar (unacceptable) and preserved it only with the name of Thabit.
