Abu Matar Basri—who met Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)—narrates that once Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bought a garment for three dirhams. When he wore it, he recited this supplication: «اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰهِالَّذِيرَزَقَنِيمِنْالرِّيَاشِمَاأَتَجَمَّلُبِهِفِيالنَّاسِوَأُوَارِيبِهِعَوْرَتِي» "All praise is due to Allah who granted me this clothing, by which I appear beautiful among people and conceal my private parts." Then he said that he had heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite this supplication as well.
