Hadith 13461

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ سَعِيدٌ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ ، فَأَخْبَرَنَا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَلَا لَا تُوَاصِلُوا ، قِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ! قَالَ : إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ ، إِنَّ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not observe continuous fasting for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You do it this way?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: I am not like you in this matter; my Lord gives me food and drink.
