(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ سَاقِيَ الْقَوْمِ يَوْمَ حُرِّمَتِ الْخَمْرُ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ قَدِ اجْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا إِنَّ الْخَمْرَ قَدْ حُرِّمَتْ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لِي أَبُو طَلْحَةَ : اخْرُجْ فَانْظُرْ ، قَالَ : فَخَرَجْتُ فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَسَمِعْتُ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي : " أَلَا إِنَّ الْخَمْرَ قَدْ حُرِّمَتْ ، قَالَ : فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، قَالَ : فَاذْهَبْ فَأَهْرِقْهَا ، قَالَ : فَجِئْتُ فَأَهْرَقْتُهَا ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : قَدْ قُتِلَ سُهَيْلُ ابْنُ بَيْضَاءَ وَهِيَ فِي بَطْنِهِ ! قَالَ : فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ : لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا سورة المائدة آية 93 " إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةَ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ خَمْرُهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْفَضِيخَ الْبُسْرَ وَالتَّمْرَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day when alcohol was made unlawful, I was serving drinks to some friends at the house of Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him). A Muslim came and said, "Do you not know that alcohol has been made unlawful?" Upon hearing this, they said to me, "Go outside and see." I went outside and heard the voice of a caller announcing, "O people! Alcohol has been made unlawful." I informed Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said, "Go and pour out all the alcohol that is in your vessel." So I went and poured it away. On this occasion, some people said that Suhail bin Bayda has perished because there was alcohol in his stomach. Upon this, Allah revealed this verse: "There is no sin upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they consumed before..." At that time, only nabidh made by mixing unripe and ripe dates was present; this was the alcohol of that time.
