(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا ، قَالَ : " يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ : " وَمَاذَا أَعْدَدْتَ لِلسَّاعَةِ ؟ " قَالَ : لَا ، إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، قَالَ : " فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ " . قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَمَا فَرِحْنَا بِشَيْءٍ بَعْدَ الإسلام فَرَحَنَا بِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ ، قَالَ : فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَأَنَا أَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُمْ لِحُبِّي إِيَّاهُمْ ، وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لَا أَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِهِمْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man presented himself in the court of the Messenger and asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) be established?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "What preparation have you made for the Hour?" He said, "Nothing except that I love Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You will be with those whom you love." Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that after embracing Islam, I never saw the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) as happy about anything as they were about this. We love the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Hazrat Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), even though we do not have the strength to perform deeds like theirs. When we are with them, that will be enough for us.
