Hadith 13347

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْأَنْصَارِ : " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَجِدُونَ أَثَرَةً شَدِيدَةً ، فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، فَإِنِّي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " ، قَالُوا : سَنَصْبِرُ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، وَأَخْفَاهُ ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the Ansar: "Soon after me, you will see many people being given preference over you, but you should remain patient until you meet Allah and His Messenger, for I will be waiting for you at my pond." They said, "We will be patient."
