Hadith 1332

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبِيدَةُ : لَا أُحَدِّثُكَ إِلَّا مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْهُ ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ ، فَحَلَفَ لَنَا عَبِيدَةُ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ ، وَحَلَفَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ : " لَوْلَا أَنْ تَبْطَرُوا لَنَبَّأْتُكُمْ مَا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ يَقْتُلُونَهُمْ عَنْ لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَأَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ : إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ ، إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ ، إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ ، فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ مُخْدَجُ الْيَدِ ، أَوْ مَثْدُونُ الْيَدِ ، أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ : أَوْ مُودَنُ الْيَدِ " .
Once, the mention of the Khawarij was made in the presence of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: Among them there will be a man who is deformed in creation. If you had not gone to extremes, I would have told you the promise that Allah has made, through the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to those who kill them. The narrator says: I asked him, "Did you really hear any statement from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding this?" He replied three times: Yes! By the Lord of the Ka'bah.
