Hadith 13312

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي دَخَلَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، أَضَاءَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَظْلَمَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ، وَمَا فَرَغْنَا مِنْ دَفْنِهِ حَتَّى أَنْكَرْنَا قُلُوبَنَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Madinah, everything in Madinah became illuminated, and when he departed from this world, everything in Madinah became dark. And we had not yet finished with the burial when we found the state of our hearts changed.
