Hadith 13308

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ثُمَامَةَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ يَذْكُرُ ، أَنَّ أَنَسًا كَانَ إِذَا تَكَلَّمَ تَكَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا ، وَيَذْكُرُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا تَكَلَّمَ تَكَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا ، وَكَانَ يَسْتَأْذِنُ ثَلَاثًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ : وَحَدَّثَنَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَسْتَأْذِنُ ثَلَاثًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said something, he would repeat it three times, and when he went to a people, he would seek permission three times.
