(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " سُئِلَ عَنِ الْكَوْثَرِ ، فَقَالَ : نَهَرٌ أَعْطَانِيهِ رَبِّي ، أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ ، وَفِيهِ طَيْرٌ كَأَعْنَاقِ الْجُزُرِ " ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ تِلْكَ لَطَيْرٌ نَاعِمَةٌ ، فَقَالَ : " أَكَلَتُهَا أَنْعَمُ مِنْهَا يَا عُمَرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about "Kawthar." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that it is the name of a river which my Lord has granted me. Its water will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and there will be birds in it with necks like those of camels. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Then those birds will be very healthy." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Umar! Those who eat them will be even healthier than them."
