It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Jewish woman mixed poison in meat and brought it to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had just taken one morsel from it when he said, "This woman has mixed poison in it." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should we not kill her?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No." The narrator says, "I could see the effect of that poison on the palate of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
