Hadith 1327

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، أخبرنا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ : " مَلَأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا ، كَمَا حَبَسُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتْ الشَّمْسُ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " حَتَّى آبَتْ الشَّمْسُ " ، إِحْدَى الْكَلِمَتَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of the Trench, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah fill their (the polytheists') houses and graves with fire, for they did not let us perform the Asr prayer until the sun had set."
