Abu Wa'il says that once a man came to Sayyidina Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Commander of the Faithful! I am unable to pay the amount for my contract of manumission, please help me." He replied, "Shall I not teach you the words that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me? Even if you have a debt equal to Mount Seer in dinars, Allah will pay it off for you." He said, "Why not?" He (Ali) said, "Keep reciting this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ» 'O Allah! Suffice me with what You have made lawful against what You have made unlawful, and make me independent of all others besides You through Your grace.'"
