Abdur Rahman bin Wardan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we went with a delegation of the people of Madinah to the service of Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). He asked, "Have you people performed the Asr prayer?" We replied in the affirmative and asked, "Please tell us—may Allah treat you well—when did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) use to perform this prayer?" He replied, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform this prayer when the sun was bright and clear."
