Hadith 13088

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تُوَاصِلُوا " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ ! قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not observe continuous fasting for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You do it this way?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: I am not like you in this matter; my Lord gives me food and drink.
