Hadith 13078

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ أَخَضَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَمْ يَشِنْهُ الشَّيْبُ " ، قِيلَ : أَوَشَيْنٌ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ : كُلُّكُمْ يَكْرَهُهُ ، إِنَّمَا كَانَتْ شُعَيْرَاتٌ فِي مُقَدَّمِ لِحْيَتِهِ ، وأشار حُمَيد إلى مُقَدَّمَ لِحْيتِه .
Humaid says that a person asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) whether the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to dye his hair. He replied that there were only seventeen or twenty white hairs in the front part of the blessed beard of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and old age did not bring any defect upon him. Someone asked, "Is old age a defect?" He replied, "Every one of you considers it undesirable."
