Hadith 13062

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " زَجَرَ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا " ، قَالَ : فَقِيلَ لِأَنَسٍ فَالْأَكْلُ ؟ قَالَ : ذَاكَ أَشَدُّ أَوْ أَشَرُّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking while standing. I asked about eating (while standing), so he said: "That is even more severe than this."
