Hadith 1296

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَزْدِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ ، عَنْ حُكَيْمِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ سَفَرًا ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصُولُ ، وَبِكَ أَحُولُ ، وَبِكَ أَسِيرُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to set out on a journey, he would recite this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّ بِكَ أَصُولُ وَبِكَ أَحُولُ وَبِكَ أَسِيرُ» "O Allah! I attack with the blessing of Your name, I move with the blessing of Your name, and I walk with the blessing of Your name."
