Hadith 12887

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ ، كَانُوا يَفْتَتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ سورة الفاتحة آية 2 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the three Caliphs (may Allah be pleased with them) used to begin the recitation in prayer with "Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil 'Alamin."
