Hadith 12880

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ هَلْ اتَّخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، أَخَّرَ لَيْلَةً الْعِشَاءَ إِلَى شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا وَرَقَدُوا ، وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُوهَا " ، فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ خَاتَمِهِ .
Humaid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a person asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) have a ring made?" He replied, "Yes! Once the Prophet (peace be upon him) delayed the Isha prayer until midnight and said, 'People have prayed and gone to sleep, but as long as you waited for the prayer, you were counted as being in prayer.' At that time, the whiteness of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) ring is still before my eyes."
