Hadith 1286

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسْنَاءِ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ حَنَشٍ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : مَا هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ : أَوْصَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنْ أُضَحِّيَ عَنْهُ " .
Hanish says that once I saw Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) slaughtering two rams. I asked him the reason for this, so he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once ordered me to offer a sacrifice on his behalf, (therefore I will continue to offer sacrifice on his behalf till the end).
