Hadith 12666

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the last glance I cast upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on Monday was such that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted the curtain of his blessed chamber, and at that time the people were offering prayer behind Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) as the Imam. I saw the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it appeared as if it were an open page of the Qur'an. Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) wanted to step back to join the row, thinking that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wished to come and lead the people in prayer. But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), seeing them standing in rows, smiled and signaled to him to remain in his place and complete the prayer, and then let the curtain fall. And on that very day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world.
