(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ
ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ
أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : فَزِعَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ مَرَّةً ، فَرَكِبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَسًا ، كَأَنَّهُ مُقْرِفٌ ، فَرَكَضَهُ فِي آثَارِهِمْ ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ ، قَالَ : " وَجَدْنَاهُ بَحْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during the night, the people of Madinah were alarmed due to fear of an enemy. The Prophet (peace be upon him) rode out in the direction of the sound on an unsaddled horse, and upon returning, he remarked about the horse that "We found it as swift as the sea."
