Hadith 12631

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ " أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا ، فَصَنَعَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ وَرِقٍ ، قَالَ : فَطَرَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمَهُ ، وَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day he saw a silver ring in the hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Seeing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), people also had silver rings made. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took off his ring and threw it away, and the people also took off and threw away their rings.
