(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَفْصٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مَثَلَ الْعُلَمَاءِ فِي الْأَرْضِ ، كَمَثَلِ النُّجُومِ فِي السَّمَاءِ يُهْتَدَى بِهَا فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ ، فَإِذَا انْطَمَسَتْ النُّجُومُ ، أَوْشَكَ أَنْ تَضِلَّ الْهُدَاةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of scholars on the earth is like that of stars in the sky, by which guidance is obtained in the darkness of land and sea. If the stars lose their light, the travelers on the path will go astray.
