Hadith 12497

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فِي قَدَحٍ رَحْرَاحٍ ، فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصَابِعَهُ فِي الْقَدَحِ ، فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَنْبُعُ ، وَجَعَلَ الْقَوْمُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ مِنْهُ ، وَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَعَلَ الْقَوْمُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ ، قَالَ : فَحَزَرْتُ الْقَوْمَ ، فَإِذَا مَا بَيْنَ السَّبْعِينَ إِلَى الثَّمَانِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for water in a wide bowl and placed his fingers in that bowl. I saw that water was gushing out from beneath the fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and people kept performing ablution with it. I estimated that the number of people was between seventy and eighty.
