Hadith 12458

Once, Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to a woman of his household, "Do you know such-and-such woman?" Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by her while she was weeping at a grave. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, "Fear Allah and be patient." She replied, "Stay away from me, you do not know what calamity has befallen me." She did not recognize the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Later, someone told her that it was the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon hearing this, she was overwhelmed and immediately came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). There she saw no doorkeeper and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I did not recognize you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Patience is at the first stroke of calamity."
