Hadith 12401

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished offering the Fajr prayer, the servants of the people of Madinah would bring their containers filled with water. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would place his hand in each container. Sometimes it would be the season of cold, yet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would still fulfill this practice.
