Hadith 12336

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكَبَائِرَ ، أَوْ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْكَبَائِرِ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : " الشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ ، وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ، وَقَالَ : أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ ؟ ، قَالَ : قَوْلُ الزُّورِ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " شَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : أَكْبَرُ ظَنِّي أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " شَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while mentioning the major sins, said: They are these—associating partners with Allah, unjustly killing, disobedience to parents. And he said: Shall I not tell you the greatest of the major sins? That is false speech or false testimony.
