Hadith 12254

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, eighty armed men from the direction of Mount Tan'eem advanced towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them). They intended to attack the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) by deception, but they were easily captured. However, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set them free. On this occasion, this verse was revealed: "And He it is Who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah after He had given you victory over them."
