Hadith 12166

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ ، وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْبُخْلِ ، وَالْجُبْنِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ " ، وَقَدْ ذَكَرَ فِيهِ " الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, old age, miserliness, and the torment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death.
