Abu Ubaid says that on both occasions of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, I had the opportunity to participate with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He led the prayer before the sermon without any adhan or iqamah, then while delivering the sermon, he said: O people! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade eating the meat of the sacrifice after three days, so do not eat it after three days.
