It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a wolf attacked a goat and took it away. The shepherd went out in search of it and recovered it. The wolf sat on its tail and said, "Do you not fear Allah that you have snatched from me my sustenance which Allah had given me?" The shepherd said, "It is astonishing that a wolf is sitting on its tail and talking to me like a human being!" The wolf said, "Shall I not tell you something even more astonishing? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is in Yathrib telling people news of the past." When the shepherd drove his goats back to Madinah, he left his goats in a corner and came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated the whole incident. At the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the call of 'As-Salat Jami'ah' was made. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out of his house and said to the shepherd, "Relate your incident before the people." He narrated the whole incident before the people. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He has spoken the truth. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not be established until wild beasts speak to humans, and a man's whip and the strap of his sandal speak to him, and his thigh tells him what his family did behind his back."
