(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِ مَوْلًى لِآلِ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حدثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَتْ جَنَازَةٌ فِي الْحِجْرِ ، فَجَاءَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، فَوَسَّعُوا لَهُ ، فَأَبَى أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ خَيْرَ الْمَجَالِسِ أَوْسَعُهَا " .
Abdur Rahman bin Abi Amrah (may Allah have mercy on him) reports that once Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) was informed about a funeral. When he arrived, people began to move from their places upon seeing him, but he refused to move forward and said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best gathering is the one which is the most spacious."
