(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، أَنَّ غُلَامًا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ بِتَمْرٍ رَيَّانَ ، وَكَانَ تَمْرُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْلًا فِيهِ يُبْسٌ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّى لَكَ هَذَا التَّمْرُ ؟ " , فَقَالَ : هَذَا صَاعٌ ، اشْتَرَيْنَاهُ بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِنَا , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَفْعَلْ ، فَإِنَّ هَذَا لَا يَصْلُحُ ، وَلَكِنْ بِعْ تَمْرَكَ وَاشْتَرِ مِنْ أَيِّ تَمْرٍ شِئْتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once fresh "Riyan" dates were presented to the Prophet (peace be upon him). Usually, only dry "Ba'l" dates would come to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "Where did you get these from?" He replied, "We exchanged two sa' of our dates for one sa' of these superior dates." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "This method is not correct. The correct way is that you sell your dates, and then buy the dates you need."
