(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، وَعَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ , عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَا : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، وَلَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ فِي وَادٍ أَوْ شِعْبٍ ، وَسَلَكَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا ، لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَشِعْبَهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If people are walking on one path and you are walking on another path, then I will choose your path, and if there had been no migration, I would have been one of the Ansar.
