Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the occasion of the Battle of Badr, we saw that every one of us would fall asleep except the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who kept praying under a tree and kept weeping until morning came. And on the day of the Battle of Badr, besides Sayyiduna Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him), none of us was mounted on a horse.
