Hadith 11536

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَكْتُبُوا عَنِّي شَيْئًا غَيْرَ الْقُرْآنِ ، فَمَنْ كَتَبَ عَنِّي شَيْئًا غَيْرَ الْقُرْآنِ ، فَلْيَمْحُهُ " . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) وَقَالَ : " حَدِّثُوا عَنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَا حَرَجَ ، حَدِّثُوا عَنِّي وَلَا تَكْذِبُوا عَلَيَّ " ، قَالَ : " وَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ " ، قَالَ هَمَّامٌ : أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ : " مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not write anything from me except the Noble Qur'an, and whoever has written anything other than the Qur'an should erase it. And he said: You may narrate from the Children of Israel, there is no harm in that, and you may also narrate hadith from me, but do not attribute lies to me, for whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me should make his abode in Hell.
