(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ أُتِيَ بِتَمْرٍ ، فَأَعْجَبَهُ جَوْدَتُهُ ، فَقَالُوا : " يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا أَخَذْنَا صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ لِنَطْعَمَهُ ، فَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ وَنَهَى عَنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some dates were presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), whose quality pleased him very much. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! We have acquired these for you to eat in exchange for one sa’ for two sa’." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) expressed disapproval at this and forbade it.
