Hadith 11512

A freed slave of Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once I entered the mosque with Hazrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that in the middle of the mosque a man was sitting squatting and had interlaced the fingers of his hands and was talking to himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured to him to stop, but he did not understand the gesture of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards Hazrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: When any one of you comes to pray, he should not interlace his fingers, for this is a satanic act, and as long as a person remains in the mosque, until he leaves the mosque, he is counted among those who are praying.
