Hadith 11511

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا ، فَقَالَ : " تَقَدَّمُوا فَائْتَمُّوا بِي ، وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ ، وَلَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that some of the companions were staying behind, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Move forward and follow me in prayer, those behind you will follow your lead, for people will continue to stay behind until Allah will put them at the back on the Day of Resurrection."
