Hadith 11508

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عِيَاضٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ " ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَالَ : الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى ، فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، فَيَقُومُ قَائِمًا ، فَيَسْتَقْبِلُ النَّاسَ بِوَجْهِهِ ، وَيَقُولُ : تَصَدَّقُوا ، فَكَانَ أَكْثَرَ مَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُ النِّسَاءُ . قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ : بِالْخَاتَمِ وَالْقُرْطِ وَالشَّيْءِ ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ أَوْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَضَعَ بَعْثًا ، تَكَلَّمَ ، وَإِلَّا انْصَرَفَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Eid al-Fitr, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would leave his house (for the Eid prayer ground) and lead the people in two units of prayer. Then he would move forward and face the people, while they remained seated, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would encourage them to give charity three times. Most of the women on this occasion would give earrings, rings, and similar items in charity. Then, if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had any need to mention regarding the army, he would state it; otherwise, he would leave.
