Hadith 11506

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، ووكيع , عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا ، حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ , قَالَ : كَانَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ وَمَرْوَانُ جَالِسَيْنِ ، فَمُرَّ عَلَيْهِمَا بِجَنَازَةٍ ، فَقَامَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ : اجْلِسْ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ " , فَقَامَ مَرْوَانُ ، وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ : مَرَّتْ بِهِ جَنَازَةٌ ، فَقَامَ " .
Aamir says that once Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and Marwan were sitting when a funeral procession passed by. Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, but Marwan said, "Sit down." Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "A funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he stood up." Upon this, Marwan also had to stand up.
