Hadith 11418

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَدَّاكِ ، قَالَ : لَا أَشْرَبُ نَبِيذًا بَعْدَمَا سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ قَالَ : جِيءَ بِرَجُلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : قَالُوا : إِنَّهُ نَشْوَانُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا شَرِبْتُ زَبِيبًا وَتَمْرًا فِي دُبَّاءَةٍ , قَالَ : فَخُفِقَ بِالنِّعَالِ ، وَنُهِزَ بِالْأَيْدِي , " وَنَهَى عَنْ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ أَنْ يُخْلَطَا " .
Ibn Duwak, may Allah have mercy on him, says that since I heard this hadith from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, I have made a vow that I will not drink nabidh, that a young man was brought to the service of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in a state of intoxication. He said that I did not drink wine, but drank the water of raisins and dates kept in a jug. At the order of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he was beaten with hands and shoes, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade making nabidh from the jug and from mixing raisins and dates to make nabidh.
