It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. Allah Almighty says: He has fasted for My sake, he has abandoned his desire for food and drink for My sake, so the fast is for Me; therefore, I Myself will give its reward.
